Caught on Camera has been selected and screened at International Changing Perspectives

We would like to congratulate you that your film has been selected to be included in the 8th International Changing Perspectives Film Festival program.

The festival will be held between 4 – 8 March 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey. As it is a Take-Away-Festival, some of the films will also be screened in Berlin, Eskisehir, Tehran, and Yogyakarta throughout the year. You can find more information about the festival at http://icpsff.com/

We also would like to remind you that we need the following materials for the festival catalogue, press releases, website, etc.

a) File of the movie with English subtitles branded. (mp4 / max. 3 GB and please DO
NOT send the movie file and an additional SRT-file / If you have HD file on Vimeo or
Filmfreeway, please make it downloadable)
b) Synopsis

Technical and artistic fact sheet
c) Dialog list (for translation, preferably time-coded text file/SRT)
d) Press materials: poster and 3-4 stills of the film
(min 300 dpi, width 18 cm horizontal for catalogue)
e) Short biography and filmography (max. 100 words)
f ) Photograph of the director (min 300 dpi)
g) Trailer link, if available
h) Film website, if available

Dear Filmmakers,

We would like to use this opportunity to make a contribution to all filmmakers -especially to the newcomers- on a subject crucial but often neglected; How to prepare your films captioning and subtitling. By the way, this part of the mail is sent all of the applicants whether their films are accepted or not. Please do not take this as a reason to be not selected.

BASIC RULES

1- Work with a professional subtitle translator.
2- Use maximum 2 lines.
3- Use maximum 42 characters in a line.
4- Keep subtitles minimum 1 second
5- Keep subtitles maximum 7 seconds
6- Break subtitles at natural points
7- Consider the image: background picture and subtitles color, subtitles size. Make sure your subtitles size can readable.
8- Always have your subtitles as a time-coded SRT file. Avoid to work at the editing software/in your project file for your subtitles.
9- Even if your film is in English originally, make sure you still have English subtitles. It is useful for translators and also, different English accents might be confusing for the audience.
